The Trussell Trust and WEX Europe Services
The Trussell Trust have teamed up with leading fuel card provider, WEX Europe Services in order to negotiate highly competitive fuel discounts for its customers.
As a food bank in the network, you are eligible to apply for a FREE Esso Card™ (normally £48 per card, per year). Your Esso Card™ will give you a discount on every litre of fuel.

*In order to process a request to open a credit account with us we will supply your charity’s information to credit reference agencies (CRA’s) and they will give us information about your charity, such as about your financial history. We do this to assess creditworthiness and product suitability, KYC and identity checks, manage your account, trace and recover debts and prevent criminal activity.

How do the Esso fuel cards work?
1) Register
Simply add the name of your food bank and contact details and the application will be submitted in minutes to the team at WEX who will be in contact within 48 hours.
2) Receive your Esso Card(s)
Once the application has been received, you will be contacted by WEX, who will take you through the application and answer any questions you may have. Upon a successful application, your Esso Card/s and your PIN code/s will be sent out.
3) Fill up
Food bank staff and volunteers can use your Esso Cards at over 3,450 fuel stations throughout the UK. Once you have filled up, simply present your fuel card to the attendant to pay for your fuel card using your pin code.
4) Automatic
The discounted transaction amount is automatically taken via direct debit from the bank account linked to your Esso Card account, 7 days after your invoice date. VAT receipts and a full history of your fuel purchases can be viewed in your online account at any time.
